Chip Roy for Congress

Case Study

Image

Republican incumbent Chip Roy won Texas' 21st District by less than 3 points in 2018, and this suburban Austin seat was targeted by Democrats hoping to turn Texas blue in 2020.

An outspoken conservative in an increasingly competitive district, Roy enlisted PRIME to help keep his seat. He faced a well-financed opponent Wendy Davis, the Democrats' 2014 gubernatorial nominee. Our ads highlighted Roy's battle with cancer, his independent record in Congress, and provided a stark contrast between Roy's Texan values and Davis' extreme liberal views.

Outspent nearly 2 - 1, most pundits rated this seat as a toss-up. On election day, Roy defeated Davis by 7%, and we are proud to have been a part of his re-election team.
